ELLIE COLETTI: RIDER, TRAINER, COACH (AND PART-TIME SUPERMODEL)
Ellie has always had a natural connection with animals. As a tot Pony Clubber, she developed a solid base of horsemanship and competed in dressage, show jumping and eventing rallies. Later, she turned her focus to classical dressage. Trained through Grand Prix, Ellie specializes in creating a solid foundation for both horse and rider.
Having always had a love for jumping, Ellie realized a few years ago that her training techniques translated well in jumping. She began experimenting, building better jumpers by strenthening their overall muscle condition and elasticity and integrating the core principles of upper level dressage. The result was more balanced, agile animals better prepared in the show ring. She is always up for coaching jumpers - both horses and riders - but for the time being, she focuses her personal goals in the dressage ring. After overcoming major hurdles, both personal and professional (the tragic death of her most special horse Hennessey, an unusual career-ending neuropathy of her next special horse, Moose, along with moving homes and barn locations for reasons out of her control), Ellie founded Cloud 9 Sport Horses® in 2013 as a way to move forward by creating the ultimate happy environment. And now, with much behind her and a solid support system at Cloud 9, USDF Silver Medalist, Ellie Coletti is excited to be going into 2015 with new goals to reach her lifelong dreams. (We hear there might be a freestyle in the works!) The next time you see Ellie, please wish her luck in her upcoming ventures for behind that smile is a life of hard work and heart of gold. Ellie has built her life around animals. Her horses, dogs and cats come before anything else. A natural competitor but at the end of the day, if all her horses are happy, healthy, moving well and ready for the next day, she goes to bed smiling.
